This is an entry-level position aimed at recent graduates and is located in the PDO Dedicated Centre in Muscat, Oman.
You must have the legal right to live and work in the Sultanate of Oman.
The role of the imaging geophysicist is to process seismic data and create images of subsurface geological structures to aid in the exploration of oil and gas. You will learn to use wavelet processing, velocity modelling and seismic imaging techniques to create 3D images of the Earth’s subsurface. You will learn to experiment with various geophysical concepts using state-of-the-art seismic imaging software and high-performance computing applications to ensure a high-quality product.
Working as part of a team, emphasis will be on taking ownership of assigned tasks, managing day-to-day operations of large and complex projects, providing optimal quality control, identifying problems, and defining ideal solutions. Our Imaging personnel work closely with our Research and Software Development team to develop new innovative solutions.

Application process
The final deadline for applications is Sunday 4th June 2023, but we would encourage you to apply whenever you feel ready. If successful, shortly after this date we will invite you to the next stage which is a technical test. Success at this stage will then followed by a short video interview and then the final stage will be an in-person technical interview with some of our geophysical managers.
Start date
We are currently looking at August/September. We will discuss start dates when we make our offer.
